Public Education programs were established in both counties prior to consolidation and continues under the RiverCom umbrella. In the past, these programs were most often run by volunteers or staff members from the Sheriff's Offices.

In 2006 funding was established by the Washington State 911 Office for Public Education Coordinators in each Washington contract county. We are pleased to have one of the foremost 911 educators of the State. RiverCom's Public Education Coordinator, Kay McKellar, has been teaching 911 Education for over 20 years and has been recognized by the Washington State NENA for her efforts.
